VIDEO AND IR ILLUMINATION

Sony handycam camcorders are E.M.P.S' best friend as these cameras are the only ones with night vision enabled. Night vision lets us see in the infrared spectrum, to the naked eye it is invisible , which lets us see what usually cannot be seen in the dark. Beware though, the new line of sony handycam does not come with nightshot. when you add the infrared lamp into the mix the range of vision improves up to 100 feet.

There is a discussion somewhere that states infrared is not the only spectrum to view the paranormal there is also ultra violet this is something we will be looking into (no pun intended) BACK TO VIDEO BACK TO TOP

STILL PHOTOGRAPHY

Digital cameras are the ultimate point , click and view devices. They are naturally sensitive to some infrared and ultra violet. we use the Samsung S1050 which has a 10.1 megapixel quality , a JVC everio which is primarily a camcorder with infrared capability but can be used as a still camera same goes for the Toshiba camileo which is a high def camcorder/still camera incidentally we have had some amazing shots from these cameras. The digital voice recorders are used to pick up E.V.P (electronic voice phenomena) the sony recorders have a lot of hours worth of recording time , they also have an output for an external microphone which can eliminate interior sounds of the device if any and these also come with a voice activated mode that can pick up the slightest sound.what is E.V.P? Electronic Voice Phenomena, or EVP, are weird and mysterious, apparently paranormal sonic events of unknown origin, which can sometimes be heard (and captured in recordings) on various types of electronic apparatus, and which are usually discounted by sceptics as being simple forms of radio interference. Some people believe the voices have a satanic or demonic origin, others postulate that they are extraterrestrial attempts at communication, or that they may, in fact, be "projections" from the researcher. Interestingly enough, the EVP phenomenon was predicted by those reputed fathers of radio, Marconi and Thomas Edison who believed it was only a matter of time before such magnificent technology would enable us to communicate directly with the dead. Indeed, Edison even went so far as to suggest that the spirit world would perhaps be the first to initiate the communication by using radio to make contact with the living. He also worked on developing a "psychic telephone" that he hoped would create a means to converse with the discarnate, alas, without success.

METERS

We currently use two E.M.F (electro magnetic field) meters which read in milligaus and one infrared laser targeted thermometer, the K11 or K2 not that there has ever been a K1 its just the name of the manufactures K11 enterprises they also produce dog trainers and deterrents, it is a very easy tool to use and very sensitive i.e. car alarms mobile phones and their masts and any other man made E.M.F but we have had some great results. the other meter we use is the Mel-8704-R which features a temperature probe that can be used simultaneously with the E.M.F meter the theory being that if there's a cold spot followed by a E.M.F fluctuation there's something going on once you've eliminated all man made pollution.If you break down all matter to its smallest particles, you will find that any physical substance, organic or otherwise, can be reduced to electrical charges (electron, protons and neutrons). All electrical charges are surrounded by a magnetic field. Together, these electrical charges and magnetic fields create electromagnetic energy. Therefore, all physical reality is surrounded and permeated by an electromagnetic field. Electromagnetic fields are commonly called EMFs.

In most houses, the highest EMF readings are caused by electrical equipment. EMF meters can easily detect these energy fields around electrical equipment. For example, televisions, light bulbs, computers, and everything with wiring produce artificial EMFs. It’s easy to identify these fields, since they stay constant and are always around the wiring that causes them. However, in haunted places, the EMF readings can be very different.At a haunted location, strong erratic fluctuating EMFs are commonly found. It seems these energy fields have some definite connection to the presence of ghosts. The exact nature of the connection is still a mystery. However, the anomalous fields are easy to find. Whenever you locate one, a ghost might be present, although the environmental conditions will not allow the spectre to appear to the naked human senses. Any other type of ghost detection, be it audio, visual or other realms, is usually also most successful when these strange EMFs are present.The Gauss meter serves as an excellent introduction to ghost detection equipment. It will easily allow you to pick up the fields from household appliances and other artificial sources. The first thing you want to do is rule them out. Then, any erratic EMF fluctuations you may detect, especially between 0 and 1 milliGaus may indicate ghostly activity. This meter has perhaps the perfect level sensitivity. It is not disrupted by subtle readings (like the energy of the human body), but it is sensitive enough to detect the small, yet distinct energy fluctuations frequently found at haunted places.There is an invisible world all around us. Currently, there exists no device that can conclusively detect ghosts. However, the EMF meter may be one of the closest tools we have.

The IR thermometer has been used to excellent effect whilst measuring cold spots where the temp probe on the mel meter is excellent for reading environmental temperature the ir can pin point a cold spot on any surface.

SURVEILLANCE

One of the main problems involved for conducting an all night investigation anywhere would be how can we be in all of the hot spots at any one time? that's where our night vision cameras come in they can be wireless or wired straight to a laptop and be recording at all times with audio too, these are a life saver.

We use cool edit pro for all audio playback as we sometimes need to remove any unwanted noise ,break down clips or even amplify them we also use this for cataloguing our E.V.P findings and converting them to mp3's

It's not rocket science, we have a lot of equipment that needs fully charged batteries if we haven't got spare batteries we cant fully investigate. It is believed that paranormal energy can drain a battery in order to manifest , we often get battery drain therefore we bring along extra batteries.
